A National Competition to Distinguish the Best Youth Start-Up for 2022 Launched

It is open for participation by any student in a Bulgarian university and any person aged up to 29 who has an innovative business idea

The Fund of Funds (FoF) and the Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski (SU) launched a national Best Youth Start-Up for 2022 competition.

It aims to encourage entrepreneurship among young people, raise their awareness of the opportunities to obtain start-up financing, and train them on how to prepare a business plan and make a pitch to potential investors.  

The competition is sponsored by the Ministry of Innovation and Growth. All students in Bulgarian universities and young people up to 29 years of age who have innovative business ideas are eligible to take part.

Applications are welcome at https://iabulgaria.typeform.com/to/OF7wYqLb by 13.05.2022.

The competition result will be announced on the website of the SU School of Economics.

At the second stage of the competition, the shortlisted 20 applicants will be offered a one-day training. The closing stage will be held on 7 June 2022 at the SU Aula. This will be the Pitching Day, where the 10 best contestants will make their presentations. Finalists will be able to further develop their projects and can join the acceleration programmes run by the FoF fund managers. They will be offered internships and can win encouragement awards.

Partners in the initiative include the UBB, Vitosha Venture Partners, Innovation Capital, Morningside Hill Capital Management, Silverline Capital, New Vision 3, BVCA, Endeavor Bulgaria,  Sofia Tech Park and the  Investment Council of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
